Hobie Eyewear’s Hull Float Sunglasses Leave a Lasting Impact at ICAST 2025

Oceanside, CA (July 25, 2025) - Eyeking LLC and Hobie® Eyewear’s Hull Floatsunglasses made a strong impression at ICAST 2025, where many industry professionals had their first chance to get hands-on with the product since its launch earlier this year. The show served as a key moment for the brand to showcase Hull Float’s innovative design, sustainable construction, and the meaningful conservation mission behind it.

Constructed from 100% upcycled Hobie® kayak material, Hull Float features lightweight and durable frames that float and bio-based polarized lenses. It is perfect for anglers who demand performance, comfort, and peace of mind on the water. But the deeper message behind the product left a lasting impression.

“Our greatest victory this year is what we’re doing for conservation and sustainability,” said Dylan Coates, Marketing Manager at Hobie® Eyewear. “Hull Float stands out as a product leading toward a cleaner tomorrow. From our upcycled production process and partnership with the FishAmerica Foundation to our ongoing commitment to lake cleanups, our efforts have made an impact where it truly matters—protecting the water and the planet. That message resonated deeply with attendees at ICAST, leaving a lasting impression. That’s what people will remember most.”

Actor and comedian Steve Harvey, recipient of the inaugural ASA Impact Award at ICAST 2025, was impressed by Hobie® Eyewear’s floating sunglasses during his visit to the brand’s booth.

As part of its sustainability efforts, Hobie® Eyewear partnered with the FishAmerica Foundation this year to support habitat restoration and clean water initiatives nationwide. A portion of every Hull Float sale directly benefits the Foundation’s conservation programs.

“ASA has been thrilled to work closely with Hobie® Eyewear on this incredible project that helps grow the sportfishing community, raises awareness around conservation, and supports efforts to keep Americans fishing. Not only have they developed a product that’s durable and effective on the water, but they’ve also found a way to make it sustainably,” said MaryBeth Long, VP of Communications – American Sportfishing Association. “We fully support Hobie’s mission to promote sustainable initiatives and are grateful that proceeds from this project will provide much-needed funding to the FishAmerica Foundation. Fishing and conservation go hand in hand. We’re excited to see what’s next for Hobie® Eyewear and look forward to a long-term partnership!”

In addition, Hobie® Eyewear proudly supported professional angler Carl Jocumsen’s #WorldWideLakeCleanup campaign by organizing two cleanups of their own—one at Jordan Lake, North Carolina, and another at Jones Beach, New York. These events engaged local communities and highlighted the brand’s hands-on commitment to cleaner waterways.

Jocumsen added, "I just can't say enough about how much Hull Float means to me. It's everything I've wanted in a pair of eyewear, and working on them with such a cool company like Hobie® Eyewear is amazing. They are priced right but feel and fit like a high-dollar pair. The lenses have no compromise on quality, which I need to compete against the best in the world. And to top it all off, they’re upcycled and float! So, you can feel great about helping the environment. Thank you Hobie®."

For Hobie® Eyewear, Hull Float is more than just a pair of sunglasses. It’s a symbol of what’s possible when innovation and purpose go hand in hand.
